Il bénéficie du soutien de l’Établissement Public de Santé Mentale de la Sarthe. \nTout au long de Septembre Jaune\, le public est invité à participer aux événements organisés\, à découvrir les ressources disponibles et à rejoindre gratuitement l’association afin de contribuer à cette mobilisation citoyenne. L’initiative met également en avant les dispositifs d’écoute et d’accompagnement existants\, afin que chacun sache comment réagir face à la détresse psychique\, pour soi-même ou pour un proche. \nEnsemble\, faisons de septembre un puissant élan de solidarité\, d’écoute et d’espoir\, et rappelons qu’un simple échange peut parfois sauver une vie. \nTranslation:\nYellow September is a national month of mobilisation dedicated to suicide prevention\, led by the association Dites Je Suis Là (“Say I Am Here”). Because a single day is not enough\, this initiative extends World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September through awareness-raising\, information and support activities throughout the month. \nIn 2026\, the Suicide Prevention Van will travel through part of France\, from Nantes to Paris\, with stops organised mainly in the heart of city centres in order to reach the general public. \nLed by Dites Je Suis Là\, in partnership with local authorities and local organisations\, this travelling initiative embodies a shared commitment to raising awareness\, informing and acting together to prevent suicide. It is supported by the Sarthe Public Mental Health Establishment (Établissement Public de Santé Mentale de la Sarthe). \nThroughout Yellow September\, the public is invited to take part in the events organised\, to explore the resources available and to join the association free of charge in order to contribute to this citizen-led mobilisation. The initiative also highlights the existing listening and support services\, so that everyone knows how to respond to psychological distress\, whether their own or that of someone close to them. \nTogether\, let us make September a strong surge of solidarity\, listening and hope\, and remember that a simple conversation can sometimes save a life.

The Roses in the Ocean Brisbane team\, along with local service providers\, spend the day having open\, honest conversations around suicide in line with the World Suicide Prevention Day Theme\, Change the Narrative on Suicide. The day provides an opportunity for people to share their own stories\, including contributing to an art display of what they wish people knew about suicide\, and members of the community receive the gift of a rose from the Roses in the Ocean team as a symbolic reminder that they are heard and cared for. Local artist and chalk-drawer\, Mace\, creates a chalk drawing on the theme\, and we are always joined by the incredible Red Tie Band who provide beautiful\, relaxing music throughout the day.

She earned her doctoral degree in School Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. DESCRIPTION:English follows \nÀ l’occasion de la Journée mondiale de prévention du suicide\, plusieurs associations et universités de France et de République Démocratique du Congo organisent ensemble un moment unique d’échange et de dialogue sur la question du suicide et de sa prévention. \nLa conférence se tiendra en simultané à Paris et à Kinshasa\, et en visioconférence\, pour faire dialoguer les expériences\, les savoirs et les réalités de terrain\, et rappeler que la prévention du suicide est un enjeu universel. \nCette rencontre permettra d’identifier les besoins à partir des statistiques et des observations de terrain\, d’explorer les tabous et représentations qui entourent le suicide\, de discuter l’impact du trauma de guerre et des violences faites aux femmes\, ainsi que les enjeux spécifiques concernant les jeunes et l’apport de la recherche. Ces échanges permettront de mettre en lumière des leviers d’action institutionnels\, associatifs et communautaires. \nL’objectif : sensibiliser à la question du suicide en Afrique subsaharienne\, renforcer les coopérations\, diffuser des pratiques efficaces et faire émerger des pistes pour mieux prévenir\, protéger et accompagner. \nConference publique et gratuite\, en français. \nTo mark World Suicide Prevention Day\, several NGOs and universities in France and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are jointly organizing a unique opportunity for exchange and dialogue on the issue of suicide and its prevention. \nThe conference will be held simultaneously in Paris and Kinshasa\, as well as via videoconference\, to facilitate a dialogue on experiences\, knowledge\, and on-the-ground realities\, and to underscore that suicide prevention is a universal issue. \nThis meeting will help identify needs based on statistics and field observations\, explore the taboos and perceptions surrounding suicide\, discuss the impact of war trauma and violence against women\, as well as specific challenges facing young people and the role of research. SUMMARY:ESPPA 2026 Symposium: Changing the Narrative on Suicide – Safer Transitions
DESCRIPTION:Join us in a beautiful Wrocław\, Poland or online (only for e-poster viewing session) for the very special WSPD-associated event – inaugural international symposium of the European Suicidology\, Prevention & Postvention Association (ESPPA) – the very first formal Europe-wide\, newly registered association\, bringing together suicidology\, suicide prevention and postvention\, with participation of  IASP SIG Education and Training in Suicide Prevention representative\, as well as Section of Suicidology EPA for strengthening of suicide prevention and postvention in Europe. \nThe ESPPA 2026 Symposium\, “Changing the Narrative on Suicide: Safer Transitions”\, focuses on one of the most critical and insufficiently addressed periods in suicide prevention: the transition from hospital care to outpatient\, community and family support. \nThe first days after discharge from psychiatric hospital require urgent attention. \nDo you even know\, that research has estimated a suicide rate of approximately 2\,950 deaths per 100\,000 person-years during the first week following psychiatric discharge – around 200–300 times the rate observed in the general population? Discharge must therefore be understood not as the end of care\, but as a high-priority transition requiring preparation\, continuity\, rapid follow-up and shared responsibility. \nThe symposium is for clinicians\, researchers\, educators\, students\, hospital representatives\, public-health professionals\, people working in crisis intervention and community services\, decision-makers\, industry representatives and people with lived experience. \nThrough an international workshop\, expert lectures and a multidisciplinary forum\, participants will explore practical approaches to strengthen safety planning skills in an innovative way using serious game concept\, a part of European Union co-funded grant (ELLIPSE Resilience Enhancement) (ID 2025-1-SE01-KA220-HED-000364668). Ensure timely and coordinated follow-up after discharge\, involve patients and supportive family members in safer transitions and translate evidence and international experience into real-world action. \nA distinctive component of the event will be its interactive e-poster programme. Accepted e-posters will remain available electronically and will be brought together in an e-book\, extending the visibility of projects and findings beyond the symposium itself. Where authors provide consent\, participants will also be able to contact them directly to ask questions\, exchange experience and develop new clinical\, educational or research collaborations.
