Dr Lay San Too (Tiffany) is a senior research fellow at the Centre for Mental Health and Community Wellbeing in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health.
Tiffany has over 15 years of research experience in suicide prevention and mental health promotion, with a strong commitment to advancing the evidence base for addressing suicide and mental health problems. Her work is driven by a passion for translating research findings into actionable policies and practices that lead to meaningful, real-world impact.
Her expertise spans psychology, epidemiology, and advanced mathematics, allowing her to develop and apply innovative methodologies in her research. She works to ensure her research is not only academically robust but also relevant and transformative in practical settings.
Tiffany is supported by a NHMRC Early Career Fellowship, and will be supported by a highly competitive CR Roper Fellowship. Her contributions to the field have garnered widespread recognition. Notably, she has been honored with the School’s Mid-Career Research Award and the Society for Mental Health Research’s Early Career Scholar Award, underscoring her impactful role in advancing suicide and mental health research.
