Dr Morton Silverman

Morton M. Silverman, M.D., is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the U.S.A. He was the Director of the Student Counseling and Resource Center at The University of Chicago from 1987-2002. From 1996-2009 he was the Editor-in-Chief of Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior. From 2002-2013 he was a member of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) Scientific Council. Dr Silverman is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the International Association for Suicide Research (IASR). He is the co-author or author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications and over 30 book chapters, and co-author of The Comprehensive Textbook of Suicidology (2000), and Adolescent Suicide: Assessment and Intervention (2006).
