Changing the Narrative: Suicide Prevention Awareness Campaign

A 3-day campaign dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness was led by students in the Mental Health Intervention (MHI) program at Seneca College.

Students, staff, and community members engaged and learned about changing the narrative on suicide. Together, we raised awareness, reduced stigma, and built a supportive campus community.

Goals of the Campaign

  • Raise Awareness – Understanding warning signs, risk factors, and prevention.

  • Educate – Sharing campus, community, and national resources.

  • Reduce Stigma – Encouraging open conversations and compassion.

  • Empower Action – Learning how to recognize when someone needs help and connect them to support.

  • Sept 10 (World Suicide Prevention Day): 9 AM – 1 PM

  • Sept 11: 9 AM – 1 PM

  • Sept 12: 9 AM – 2 PM
