Cycle Around the Globe with Shoreditch Park & City Primary Care Network
September 10 @ 8:00 am - October 10 @ 5:00 pm
FreeThe Shoreditch Park & City Primary Care Network (PCN) is inviting its staff & patients to partake in the International Association for Suicide Prevention’s Cycle Around the Globe initiative as part of a virtual team PCN. We will also be hosting 2-3 Walking Groups for World Suicide Prevention Day between September 10- October 10 with a partner organisation.
As a primary care network, we are uniquely positioned to play a critical role in suicide prevention. By participating in awareness initiatives, such as the one outlined in this proposal, we help normalize discussions around suicide, we challenge the misconceptions that often isolate those in distress, and foster understanding and compassion within communities. Talking about suicide plays a vital role in reducing the stigma and barriers associated with mental health struggles. Join us in making a difference in support of World Suicide Prevention Day by participating in our PCN initiative! Together, we have the power to create positive change that resonates far beyond our immediate surroundings.
The objectives of this initiative are to:
- Encourage an open conversation about suicide and suicide prevention among staff within the PCN, which will have a direct positive impact on how we interact with our patients (and each other) on this topic.
- Highlight the PCN’s commitment to fostering an inclusive community that actively works to diminish the stigma and barriers surrounding mental health challenges. By cultivating a supportive environment, we empower individuals to openly express their feelings, share their experiences, and seek help without the fear of judgment
- Encourage engagement in healthy, positive, wellness
strategies.
