
Free Outdoor Movie Screening For World Suicide Prevention Day 2025

The Arthur Sommer Rotenberg (ASR) Suicide & Depression Studies Program at St. Michael’s Hospital invites you to join us for a free outdoor screening of the Oscar winning film Little Miss Sunshine in recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD)!
Key Details:
Date: Wednesday September 3rd (rain date: Wednesday September 10th)
Time: Introductory remarks will begin at 7:45pm. Film screening will start at sundown (~8pm).
Where: Hillcrest Park (at corner of Turner Rd. & Hillcrest Dr.)
Cost: Free! No tickets, just show up!
What to bring: Bring a blanket to sit on and some snacks
Who: Open to all!
Content advisory: This film contains mature themes, moderate profanity, moderate alcohol/drug use and mild sex & nudity. The screening includes discussions of suicide, which some viewers may find upsetting.
About WSPD:
World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) is acknowledged annually to provide awareness and commitment to actions preventing suicide. This year, WSPD is on September 10th, one week after our movie screening.
