Holding Space: Beginning Conversations on Understanding Suicide Prevention
August 13 @ 7:00 pm - September 13 @ 9:00 pm

On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10), this workshop, HOLDING SPACE: Beginning Conversations on Understanding Suicide Prevention, invites participants to reflect on suicide not as a matter for professionals alone but as a shared human concern. Drawing on clinical, community, and educational experience, the session seeks to bridge the gap between care and confidence—helping participants move from uncertainty to compassionate readiness. Through myth-busting, recognition of warning signs, ethical engagement, and careful referral practices, we will explore how ordinary acts of listening and presence can be life-affirming. The workshop emphasizes that while it is not a substitute for therapy or clinical training, it provides an ethically grounded, culturally sensitive space to build awareness, deepen understanding, and strengthen the collective capacity for prevention.
