September 10
Free
The Department of Applied and Clinical Psychology, School of Behavioral and Social Sciences (SBSS), Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) actively participated in observing World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September, in collaboration with the Manovriti Counseling and Well-being Centre.
The observance was marked by several engaging initiatives. The day began with a rally to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention, followed by poster-making activities where participants creatively expressed messages of hope and support. A Wall of Hope was also created, featuring positive messages from students and staff, symbolizing collective encouragement and the importance of seeking help when needed.
The program featured distinguished guests, including Anjali Gopalan from Naz Foundation and Dr. Kiran Modi from Udayan Care, who shared their insights on mental health advocacy, suicide prevention, and creating supportive environments for at-risk individuals. Their sessions highlighted the practical role of mental health services, such as those offered by Manovriti, in providing timely support and building resilience.
Through these activities, participants not only became more aware of suicide prevention but also experienced firsthand the importance of community, empathy, and proactive support for mental well-being. The event reinforced that Manovriti Counseling and Well-being Centre is a vital resource, offering ongoing guidance and emotional support to ensure a safe, healthy, and resilient university environment for all. The Centre provides comprehensive mental health and emotional support services to all students and staff at the university, fostering a culture of care, resilience, and psychological well-being.
