World Sucide Prevention Day 2025
September 8 @ 10:00 am - September 10 @ 5:00 pm
$5000
The Wellness Club, SRM University AP, in collaboration with the Department of Psychology and the Wellness Center, is organizing Suicide Prevention Day 2025 from 8th to 10th September 2025. With the theme “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”, this three-day program aims to spread awareness, encourage open conversations, and foster hope among students and the community.
The event begins on Day 1 with Essay and Poetry Competitions. The essay competition, titled “Creating Hope Through Action”, invites students to present original ideas within 800–1000 words, written in 90 minutes. The poetry contest, “Voices of Hope”, will allow participants to express their reflections in any style, limited to 30 lines, composed within 60 minutes. These creative expressions serve as a platform for young minds to articulate positive perspectives on mental health and suicide prevention.
Day 2 focuses on Campaign Activities designed to engage students interactively. The Hope Wall Campaign will feature palm imprints around the word “HOPE,” creating a collaborative awareness display. A Pledge Wall will invite participants to share affirmations and supportive messages. The Face Painting Booth will use symbolic designs like the semicolon and yellow ribbon to spread awareness visually. The day will also host a Workshop on Suicide Prevention, equipping participants with practical knowledge and strategies to support peers in distress.
On Day 3, the program culminates with an Awareness Drive and Closing Ceremony. The morning drive will include the distribution of yellow ribbons, helpline pamphlets, and video messages across campus. A Panel Discussion on “Suicide Prevention in Educational Institutions” will bring experts together to share insights and solutions. The event concludes with a Valedictory Program featuring cultural performances, prize distribution, and a vote of thanks.
All participants will receive E-certificates and exciting prizes, making this initiative both meaningful and motivating.
