Konferencja naukowa z okazji Międzynarodowego Dnia Zapobiegania Samobójstwom/Scientific Conference on the Occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day

On 10 September 2025, the University of Gdańsk will host a scientific conference marking World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD). This event is part of the international activities coordinated by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and will take place under this year’s WSPD theme.
The conference aims to provide a platform for interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge, research, and best practices in suicide prevention, mental health promotion, and crisis intervention. It will bring together researchers, clinicians, educators, representatives of NGOs, public institutions, and individuals with lived experience of mental health crises.
The program includes presentations by leading experts in psychology, psychiatry, suicidology, public health, pedagogy, sociology, and social work. Discussions will address both national priorities and global challenges in suicide prevention, with particular attention to youth, older adults, and vulnerable populations.
By fostering dialogue between academics, practitioners, policymakers, and community stakeholders, the Gdańsk conference will highlight the importance of evidence-based, collaborative, and culturally sensitive approaches to suicide prevention in Poland and beyond.
