Christopher W. Drapeau, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and Assistant Vice President of Research & Evaluation at Vibrant Emotional Health, administrator of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (USA). He is responsible for leading and guiding the 988 Lifeline in research and evaluation initiatives, dissemination efforts, and the development of external research collaborations. Before joining Vibrant, he worked in state government, where he oversaw suicide prevention efforts and led the planning and implementation of Indiana’s 988 and behavioural health crisis care system. A former university professor, he is currently a Visiting Scholar in the Irsay Institute at Indiana University, where he continues to publish research broadly focused on the topic of suicide. He also co-produces suicide data sheets for the National Council for Suicide Prevention.
