Why Compassion Matters in Mental Health and Suicide Prevention
September 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Compassion can be best described as kindness, with a deep awareness and connection of the suffering of oneself and others, along with desire and effort to relieve it. For people working in mental health and suicide prevention, supporting people in distress and their loved ones, compassionate responses are a vital means of providing support and creating comfort. This lecture will discuss how breaking down barriers, reducing stigma and being trauma informed can help create positive outcomes.
